Mr WordPress on Hello world!
-Old Major gives all the animals a big speech on rebelling against the humans. He had a dream and in his dream was the concept of animalism. The animals all hated farmer Jones because he never fed them or took care of them. He was always drunk. Sadly, Old Major died 3 days after the speech. The animals decided to go by what Old Major was saying and rebel against Mr. Jones!
-The animals run Mr. Jones and his wife off the farm and organize the whole place for themselves. They change the farm name to “Animal Farm” from “Manor Farm, make the 7 commandments and sing the song: “Beasts of England”.
-Everyday they work hard and are happy with how everything is going.
-Day after day, Napoleon and Snowball are showing themselves more as “leaders” though; when it was said everyone was equal. They were the only ones speaking in group gatherings and the only ones with suggestions for the place.
-When a gathering is going on about building a windmill, Napoleon sent the dogs he was privately teaching after Snowball and they chased him off the farm.
-Napoleon becomes leader and everyone listens to him. He changes the commandments, makes the pigs the most important animals, starts drinking, wearing clothes, and sleeping in beds.
-Boxer, the old, hard-working horse gets sick and Napoleon sends him to a horse slaughterer which makes him into glue.
-Napoleon and the other pigs are now sleeping in beds with BLANKETS. Not sheets since they changed the commandment about not sleeping in beds to not sleeping in beds with sheets. The pigs are also wearing clothes (ribbons and dresses), drinking and smoking, and acting like they’re all the big guys in the place, not really caring about everyone else.
-In the end, the pigs invite the humans over for a party and the other animals, flabbergasted, could not tell the difference between the humans, and the animals.

You’re my favorite explosion.
(You know the only real way to cure pain is to add a little more,
because everything new distracts the old.)
A violin with no hands plays symphonies with no words.
A drowning boy with no voice prays someone up there’s telling me, (Assonance)
You’d better not get back up!
I spit my heart into this red cup. (hyperbole)
I’d better pick it back up, it might ruin your night.
And she said, “Baby, leave the water by the bed for later,
and I woke up without a single drop.
I told myself I’m tired of holding up your backup plans.
Go down your list and be satisfied if all you have is not enough.(repetion)
(True love comes from more than just the heart) (Assonance)
She said paint a picture on me, (Alliteration)
throw your dress up and your heart away.
Yeah, I heard what you said.
A friend of a friend, these strangers at the party never paid.
And if that doesn’t turn you on.
I’ll keep talking till something does.(Alliteration)
As we’re covered in sand, you roll over and smile.
I told myself I’m tired of holding up your backup plans.
Go down your list and be satisfied it’s all you have.
And until that day,
I’ll steal you flowers from the cemetery, red roses.
Red rose of the dead.
How does it feel to breathe oxygen inside her head?(couplet)
So say it, say I’m in love, cause you called me
crying from your job, said you just got fired.
And you don’t have a backup plan,
so don’t expect me to understand.
(A diamond bullet and a gun made of gold, she was covered in blood last seen in San Francisco) (Alliteration, Hyperbole)
We all breakdown.
Sometimes the bedroom walls become my only friends, (Personification)
but they were there from beginning to end.
I’m tired of holding up your backup plans.
Go down your list and be satisfied it’s all you have.
You know I’ve never held a gun in my life,
but now I carry one around in case I see you tonight.
Oh, these bedroom walls.
Oh, I hate what it tastes like.
Basically the song is about a boy and girl who are in a very dysfunctional relationship where the boy can`t stop hurting the girl over and over again. With the girl asking the boy why he’s not satisfied with their relationship and that he doesn’t really love her he only loves her for all of her support and all of the things she does for him. Also that she loves him too much too leave even though he doesn’t really love her back. In the end the girl wants to kill him because of all the things he had put her through.
You know the only real way to cure pain is to add a little more, because everything new distracts the old- So it obviously it hasn’t been a very good relationship if the cure to pain is adding more because you forget about the old pain. I told myself I’m tired of holding up your backup plans. Go down your list and be satisfied if all you have is not enough. The girl is tired of being the boys fall back plan when everything he does fails and that he should go down his list of girls if he isn’t happy with the relationship that he has. And until that day, I’ll steal you flowers from the cemetery, red roses. Red rose of the dead. This part is from the boys perspective and it means that until the day that he does leave her for one of the girls on his list, that he’ll steal her roses from the cemetery.
So say it, say I’m in love, cause you called me, crying from your job, said you just got fired. And you don’t have a backup plan, so don’t expect me to understand. Basically he gets fired from his job and the girl says that unless he loves her she won’t be his backup plan for when things go wrong. Sometimes the bedroom walls become my only friends, but they were there from beginning to end. Through all of the fights and everything the two of them went through together she only really had her bedroom to support her and to be her friend throughout. You know I’ve never held a gun in my life, but now I carry one around in case I see you tonight. After all of the things he put her through she hates him to a point of wanting to kill him for it all.
“A drowning boy with no voice…”, “True love comes from more than just the heart” Both these quotes show assonance from the poem.
“I told myself I’m tired of holding up your backup plans.Go down your list and be satisfied if all you have is not enough.” – Is repetition. It’s repeated twice in the whole song it is the chorus of the song
“True love comes from more than just the heart” is assonance because the vowel “o” is in the middle of most of the words in this line.
“Red rose of the dead,
How does it feel to breathe oxygen inside her head” is a couplet because they are two lines that rhyme in a poem.
“Sometimes the bedroom walls become my only friends” is personification because the singer/narrator is saying the walls are “friends” when really, walls are inanimate and not living.

The Road Not Taken
1) The fork in the road symbolizes that the narrator could have gone either 2 ways. One way was the road that everyone went on, meaning he could do what everyone else did and fit in, and the other way was the road less traveled by, meaning he could go on that road and be different.
2) It’s probably the beginning of winter because it says “And both that morning equally lay in leaves no step had trodden back…” which tells us that there’s leaves on the ground. Usually near the beginning of winter is when all the autumn leaves are on the ground and everyone’s just waiting for the snow to come.
3) He just made the decision to take the road less traveled by.
4) It made all the difference that he took the road less traveled by and he said that it made all the difference on the last line because that’s when he realized it. It also made the ending more dramatic.
5) I think he was sorry he couldn’t experience both roads because he was curious how each would go and wanted to see where each would take him.
1) John’s song is about imagining a world full of peace and happiness.
2) Music helps people hear this message because of the peaceful, beautiful melody.
3) The important images that this song’s words suggest are things like rainbows, doves, smiley faces, and butterflies. This song makes me think of these things because rainbows and doves are symbols of peace. Smiley faces and butterflies are just things that make people happy and they are happy.
Reader Response 3 – “The Metaphor”
What is the mother’s attitude towards Ms. Hancock? Is she callous or honest? Explain.
“People don’t mind being mean; but they never want to be ridiculous.” – Moliere. I think Charlotte’s mother is being callous toward Ms. Hancock. She is not thinking about the fact that she is her daughter’s teacher and is doing a good job at it. Charlotte’s father said, “You are very fortunate, Charlotte, to have a teacher who can wake you up and make you love literature.” (Pg. 71). That is all that should really matter and not her outward appearance. Charlotte’s mother is being judgmental, maybe a little jealous, and inconsiderate. It would not hurt to be a little bit nicer.
“Or my mother might comment, ‘Gillian Munroe is having trouble with her children. And in my opinion, she has only herself to blame.’” (Pg. 74). A lot of people judge others by how they look when they don’t even know the person. People might dress like clowns, but they could be real, genuine people on the inside. Charlotte’s mom did the same thing with Ms. Hancock. She hadn’t even talked to her, but she had no respect for her just by the way she dressed. That says a lot about the judgemental person Charlotte’s mother is.
You wouldn’t want your husband, fiancé, or boyfriend talking about how great another woman is. Charlotte’s mother could have even been a little jealous that her husband was telling Charlotte how lucky she was to have Ms. Hancock as a teacher. It was probably something she didn’t like to hear. The fact is that Ms. Hancock, no matter how outrageous she dressed, was a great teacher and had a great heart; two things that Charlotte’s mother didn’t show she had. She was jealous she didn’t have those two qualities.
“You mean that same brassy teacher from grade 7? [Charlotte’s mom]” (Pg.78). When Charlotte found out Ms. Hancock had died, she was absolutely distraught. Her mom’s only response was that careless, uninterested, heartless quote! No comforting, no hugging, no being a shoulder to cry on. She just wanted her to get over it and get on with her life. That is very inconsiderate of her and it seemed like she didn’t even care that someone so important to her daughter had died. Hopefully no mother treats her child like that.
Charlotte’s mother was strict, judgemental, and mean; the three things you don’t want in a mother. Charlotte’s mother and Ms. Hancock could have switched places and been in their correct positions: Ms. Hancock as her caring, advice-filled mother, and Charlotte’s actual mother as her strict teacher.
Pain. That’s all you can think about. Think of how you would feel sitting in a wheelchair or lying in a bed in unbearable pain. Now think about how you would have to stay like that for the rest of your life. People go through all kinds of things these days and some even have pain 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Euthanasia would be something that could stop that pain forever. Not only would it stop the person’s pain, but their loved one’s pain as well. Euthanasia should be available to those who are very in need of it and it should be legalized to end people’s suffering. David in the poem “David,” was in such a huge amount of pain he rather would have died. He used euthanasia and it was over. It should be used if there is nothing else to do and the person is in a vegetative state in unbearable pain, if the person is in a terminal illness and their just waiting for the days to pass with their family painfully watch them die away, and if the person knows they could never live, nor would they want to live being paralyzed. It should be an option to those who believe in it and a choice to those who are in serious need of it.
Think about being in pain and then staying like that till your last breath. Waiting till you could finally die to end your pain. Now that would not feel good. At all. It would actually be horrible. Statistics show that an average of 55 percent of terminally ill patients die in pain every year. That 55 percent waited painfully for a much longer time than they needed to. They could have been relieved of their pain much earlier knowing they are terminally ill. In the poem “David,” David was in immense pain since he basically broke his spine. Obviously, this is not a terminal illness, but that immense pain he was in was enough to make him rather die. If he would be in that pain constantly, he definitely should have considered it. Anyone would rather be put out of their constant pain than stay like that forever till they pass. Euthanasia should be available to people in pain constantly and people should be open to that option.
If a person has a terminal illness and is in a vegetative state, Euthanasia should be open to them. When people have cancer and it is terminal, the person is basically just waiting. Maybe in physical pain, and maybe even in emotional pain because they are probably surrounded by family and friends in pain from watching them as well. Think of lying in a bed, surrounded by loved ones. Not only loved ones though, also sympathy and sadness. No, not only that actually, then there is crying and pain and you see everyone suffering because of you. And you are just waiting to die because you know it is going to happen. Euthanasia would help people like this. People who want to end their suspense of when they are going to pass, and also end their loved ones’ pain.
We all know someone super in love with nature or someone very into sports, always running around and energetic. Those are two kinds of people you cannot see sitting down for more than an hour. Maybe not even an hour. David in the poem “David,” was one of these people. He loved hiking and doing all these outdoor activities. He could not picture himself doing anything else. He would have been paralyzed forever and this felt impossible for him to deal with. His whole life was about the outdoors and doing different activities. Some people cannot imagine their lives being paralyzed or stuck in a wheelchair. They should try making the best of it however, if it really does not work for them and they are in depression all the time, the option of euthanasia should be an open for them.
Euthanasia is an escape to many people in pain and suffering. It should definitely be an option for people in Canada as it would be useful to end people’s constant pain, terminal illness, and in some people’s opinion: useless lives. “I looked at the blood on the ledge, and the far valley. I looked at last in his eyes. He breathed, “I’d do it for you, Bob.”” Pg. 5 of “David.”
